clashing egos

if you really think about it, it’s like that annoying bug that flies around and acts as a nuisance and all you want to do is slap it away from you. but sometimes you realize you don’t need to slap it away because you know its not even going to do anything to kill you and you end up ignoring it and going about your day.

ego is the property of the individual, but there’s people who feel the need to shove their ego down the throat of another to fulfill some type of void within themselves sometimes in attempt to instigate a situation to another level.. for what.. attention? self-worth?… oh that’s one thing… increasing your self-worth hoping for it to be the cost of someone else’s.  (when in some situations, you’re probably not even a factor in the detriment of their ego because they simply are unaffected by your nonsense)… probably the primary reason for why society and life can just be simply fucked up. and unfair. Honestly, this concept exists today through social networks, education, confrontations on the street, in a grocery store, at home.  It also has existed in the beginning of time.  This is what creates allies and enemies.  but every single person shares a common need for that attention, that love, that acknowledgement from others.  It’s part of being human and living in a community and in society filled with family, friends, acquaintances, and social others.  the world fights for equilibrium and the decision between letting another person’s ego bother your own and simply ignoring it is a constant battle that never ends. honestly, at some point we become the victim and then we become the flies.  and if you can’t admit that you’ve ever become a fly then i’m pretty sure you’d be lying to yourself because sometimes we are flies without even realizing it. (another factor to why things can be fucked up.  Being a fly can become someone’s “nature”)

If someone ever attempts to attack you with their “ego” (whether they even realize they’re attacking you or not) and if it causes that much trouble for you, keep yourself occupied with things that you do for you… to boost your own ego (without necessarily flaunting it).  maintain integrity, and stay humble. then, ignoring those flies will be natural and easy as cake. protecting your mentality therefore protects your actions and behavior therefore promotes more of those moments you sometimes just wish you were simply “happy”.
